Free Teacup Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Teacup amigurumiTo make this cute teacup, which I made to honor the beauty drama community, I used a 3.5 mm crochet hook and size 4 yarn from Bernat. I used their Baby Yarn in baby blue, antique white, and white. For the eyes, I used the 12 mm plastic eyes for the teacup and the 8 mm plastic eyes for the tea bag. I got them from Amazon in a kit of 150 pcs.

I changed up the handle since I did not like how it looked in the round, so I will be including that modification in this post. You can always visit the original post for the rounded handle option for your teacup.

Abbreviations

sc = single crochet

ch = chain

st = stitch

inc = increase (2 sc in one st)

dec = decrease (2 sc together)

 

Materials

  • Yarn of your choice (I used Bernat’s Baby Yarn in White, Baby Blue, and Antique White)
  • 3.5 mm hook (or a hook that is .5 mm smaller than your yarn gauge)
  • Fiberfill
  • Doll eyes (a pair of 12 mm and 8 mm)
  • Pink felt (for cheeks)

 

Cup Body

Rnd 1: In the light blue color, ch 2, join in a circle. 6 sc in the round [6 sc]

Rnd 2: inc 6 times [12 sc]

Rnd 3: (inc, sc in next st) repeat 6 times [18 sc]

Rnd 4: (inc, sc in next 2 st) repeat 6 times [24 sc]

Rnd 5: (inc, sc in next 3 st) repeat 6 times [30 sc]

Rnd 6: (inc, sc in next 4 st) repeat 6 times [36 sc]

Rnd 7: (inc, sc in next 5 st) repeat 6 times [42 sc]

Rnd 8: (inc, sc in next 6 st) repeat 6 times [48 sc]

Rnd 9: (inc, sc in next 7 st) repeat 6 times [54 sc]

Rnd 10: sc in front loops only [54 sc]

Rnd 11-25: sc in all 54 st [54 sc]

Rnd 26: To form the edge of your cup, crochet 54 sc in the 24th row

Fasten off, cut off the yarn, and weave in the ends

 

Tea

Rnd 1: In the beige/ antique white color, ch 2, join in a circle. 6 sc in the round [6 sc]

Rnd 2: inc 6 times [12 sc]

Rnd 3: (inc, sc in next st) repeat 6 times [18 sc]

Rnd 4: (inc, sc in next 2 st) repeat 6 times [24 sc]

Rnd 5: (inc, sc in next 3 st) repeat 6 times [30 sc]

Rnd 6: (inc, sc in next 4 st) repeat 6 times [36 sc]

Rnd 7: (inc, sc in next 5 st) repeat 6 times [42 sc]

Row 25: dec, sc in next 2 st [3 sc]

Row 27: sc around the edge, fold together like a tea bag, sew together and leave tail to attach to the tea
